Falling Stars
by Jonathan Thorne
I climbed the mountains near and far
And wished upon a falling star;
I climbed the mountains high and low
And wished that you would never go.
But for the distance I could see,
There still are dreams that cannot be.
The clouds of grey hid skies of blue
As ev'ry thought turned back to you.
I sailed the oceans near and far
And wished upon a falling star;
I sailed the oceans deep and wide
And wished that I could turn the tide.
But though our dreams soon fade away,
We find new meaning in each day.
And 'till you come back from afar,
I’ll wish upon a falling star.
