Ode to a Winter Coat

Why do you cast me aside?
Have you forgotten the times
We strode together among white rooftops?
Why do you leave me alone?
Did I not hold you close enough
And keep you warm through winter nights?
But snow melts into rain;
Snowflakes give way to flowers.
As you follow your dreams,
I lie in the corner. Alone,
Left only with sweet memories.
