Still He Loved Me

by Jonathan Thorne

“Who will walk with me through the garden?”
I heard Him ask.
“Who will wait the whole night through?”

He led me down the paths of gold,
I only saw a cold dark road.

“Who can calm the wind and waves?”
He asked of me.
“Who can heal the deepest pain?”

He put a rainbow in the sky,
I only heard the cry of rain.

He stood there always by my side, for
Still, He loved me.
When I turned and walked away,
Still, He loved me.
And when I returned and found Him there,
Still, He loved me.
